Paul Graze

Paul is a Vietnam veteran, widower, ranch owner, builder, endurance athlete, and human resources professional whose life has been shaped by discipline, faith, responsibility, and persistence. In 1973, he graduated from the first Human Resource Management class at Fort Benjamin Harrison Finance and Administration School. After military service, he joined one of the largest industrial contractors in the world and advanced into field human resources management. He became one of the youngest field managers assigned to major Shell Chemical industrial expansions, supporting workforces of 3,000 to 5,000 people and conducting approximately 40,000 face-to-face interviews over five years.Paul later served in corporate human resources and accepted a role as human resources director for a $500 million civil firm working on major Atlanta infrastructure projects, including the 75/85 Downtown Connector and the 285/85 Junction. In 1984, he launched his own human resources recruiting firm. Within three years, he helped assemble the construction management team for the 63-story Truist Tower in Atlanta. His later project work included the Ford Lightning Plant in Memphis, Tennessee, and the Savannah Port Authority project in Savannah, Georgia.

Beyond his professional career, Paul has always been drawn to endurance, land, and building. He logged approximately 20,000 miles in cross-country biking and later drove 6,500 miles on a lithium-battery golf cart over eighteen months. He is a past member of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, and Bellingrath Gardens, and he currently owns a registered longhorn ranch. His hands-on accomplishments include building a three-story Charleston Row House replica with sixteen columns and double-deck porches overlooking a forty-foot waterfall in Clarkesville, Georgia. Later in life, between the ages of sixty and seventy, he created a 100-foot waterfall using approximately 2,000 bags of concrete, moving materials by wheelbarrow and five-gallon buckets through difficult terrain.Paul has been a widower for nineteen years. His late wife, son, family legacy, faith, and lifelong belief in perseverance remain central to his story. This book reflects the voice of a man who has lived through war, grief, professional pressure, physical labor, and years of unanswered questions, yet still believes that truth deserves to be carried into the light.
